Abstract

Understanding of the social sources of power for defence: the ideological and political context and the economic base provides for a vision of the operating environment in the changed socio-cognitive conditions. These social sources of power are crucial to the comprehension of cognition, decision making, and action across strategy, threat perception, force structure, force design, operations, and tactics.
