Abstract

Being guided by the operational framework of the three key concepts of teacher competences, teacher standards and teacher competence standardisation, this chapter critically reviews, analyses and evaluates the national Project 2020s process of developing the English Teachers Competency Framework (ETCF) in Vietnam, its outcome and its fitness for purposes, based on which implications are proposed for Vietnamese colleges’ and universities’ ELT education.
