Abstract

WELL, it's official: university studies confirm that the sound of vomiting is the most unpleasant of noises encountered by the human ear. But if it's you making that noise, you just want help and you want it fast!

Nausea and vomiting is unpleasant indeed. We all have our vomiting horror stories, usually reflecting the excess of our youth or those unforgettable late-night episodes involving our children. I suspect that those of us who have experienced the latter at four in the morning will fully appreciate recent university studies identifying vomiting as the most offensive sound to the human ear.
