Abstract

How has urban living changed over time and how has it impacted on the lives of women and their families? This paper uses the lens of Nussbaum’s Capabilities Approach to examine the change and impact of urban living on women and their family. By reflecting on a case study of actual urban living experience, it explores the extent to which some central human capabilities are applied in the way people understand and practice their rights and the ways they are presented on the policy agenda in Vietnam urban context.
