Abstract

At a time when political forces are driving trends toward nationalism and insularity and attempting to influence and even eliminate research agendas, the need for international collaboration in healthcare and nursing research has never been greater.1–4 The world is becoming increasingly diverse and inequitable, and eliminating research that strives to reduce health disparities and inequity in health services will have disastrous effects for healthcare and all of us who need healthcare. Healthcare crises rarely affect one limited area of the world, and healthcare and nursing problems, whether in pandemics or not, are global issues. The COVID-19 pandemic was a powerful example of why international collaboration in nursing and healthcare research is crucial.
