Abstract
The rainbow chalet, situated amongst the eucalypts on the foreshore of Little Lake at the northern end of Great Lake was, during its brief 33 years of existence, the grandest building on the Central Plateau. It was also the accommodation house for a long list of notable guests, most of whom had come to experience the thrill of catching the lake's famous rainbow and brown trout. Indeed, these fish were accessible within a mere stone's throw from the front steps of the Chalet.
