Abstract

INTRODUCTION & BACKGROUND:
ROSA is a unique ‘big-data’ national platform, which integrated 17 federal and state based data collections from the aged care, health care and social welfare sectors, to generate critical evidence from a powerful analytical examination of individuals in aged care settings. ROSA has underpinned the evaluation and monitoring of innovations, care models and other solutions aimed to improve quality of care and safety for Australia’s aged care sector. In 7 years, ROSA contributed to the national understanding of best practices, created internationally relevant evidence to drive improvements in clinical practice and contributed to national aged care policy and reforms.
