Abstract

Cardiovascular disease (CVD) remains a global health concern with substantial morbidity, mortality, and economic burden. While medical advancements have undoubtedly improved CVD outcomes, there is a growing recognition that patient engagement and self-management play pivotal roles in achieving optimal results. Despite advances in medical interventions, the prevalence of CVD continues to rise, implying the need for comprehensive approaches that extend beyond pharmacological treatments. The editorial paper by Lee GA2 highlighted on the evolution of nurse-led care and its potential impact on healthcare delivery. The focus has primarily been on the broader scope of nurse-led care and its contribution to healthcare in general. In the current editorial, we build upon that and explore the significance of nurse-led self-management interventions, the role nurse-led interventions can play in empowering CVD patients to actively manage their condition and their potential to transform CVD care.
