Abstract

Increasingly, paramedics are being called on to manage chronic and complex health needs, including symptom relief for people receiving palliative care and/or at the end of life. This article describes the role of Extended Care Paramedics (ECPs) or Community Care Paramedics who have additional training and equipment for servicing community palliative care needs and includes two case stories.
