Abstract
The neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), an easily measurable index derived from routine full blood count, has gained attention as a prognostic marker in various conditions.1 Whilst the NLR has also been shown to predict adverse outcomes in hospitalised patients with community-acquired pneumonia (CAP), its independent role in multivariate analysis was rarely assessed and little evidence is available in Australian populations.
