Abstract

This edited collection underscores the importance of identifying evidence-based solutions to tackle issues of gender discrimination. As the authors have outlined, there are a range of next steps that can be taken to create more just and inclusive worlds for women. These include policy interventions, practical solutions that can be applied across key stakeholders and theoretical and structural changes. Some of these recommendations already exist in certain jurisdictions, offering concrete examples for expanded adoption. Others are suggestions that have not yet been implemented that we know of but provide fertile ground for expansion and innovation. These areas of inspiration are often grounded in the foundations of inclusion-making sure a diverse range of voices are included in systems of power. It is within these gaps that innovation can be laid. We note, in this final chapter, that there are no single solutions, but likely a combination that works best, nor are those proffered here exhaustive. Rather, high-impact and lasting changes come from a combination of interventions to support women’s ascension into pathways to power that are nimble, creative and measurable. We need all of the tools in our arsenal, and this chapter provides some key examples.
