Abstract
Plain English summation of Claire Smith's doctoral fieldwork, written for the people of Barunga, Beswick and Manyallaluk communities, Northern Territory. Provides a chapter by chapter description of the thesis. This report also describes objects that was collected from people in these communities for the National Museum of Australia and the participation of community people at the Second Australian Rock Art Research Association (AURA) conference in Cairns in 1992.
