Abstract

A number of conditions that are common, costly, and burdensome still struggle to get the attention they deserve. Incontinence, constipation, and breathlessness are prime examples. Few clinicians, palliative care or not, would not face these issues daily, yet these issues struggle to obtain sufficient attention for research, funding, and data-driven decision making. Similarly, our armamentarium of therapeutics (other than trying to repurpose current therapies) is sparse due to extremely limited investment.
