Abstract

Introduction and Aims: There is a dearth of research of the characteristics and health behaviours of tobacco smokers in treatment for alcohol and other drug (AOD) use despite the known high prevalence and tobacco-related morbidity experienced among this population. This study aims to examine the tobacco smoking characteristics (nicotine dependence tobacco use), quit history (previous quit methods, quit intentions and self-efficacy) and awareness of subsidised nicotine replacement therapy among clients in AOD treatment.
