Abstract
This paper investigates a lost shard of Internet visions. Electric Dreams is a tale of proto-on-line love. While the 1990s was the decade that popularised Internet connectivity, the 1980s was the era of bulking Macs and ugly IBMs cluttering our vista. Returning to a time before personal computing - let alone the Internet - was well known reveals an early visual reckoning of a computer-mediated future. This film, like much contemporary theorising, was saturated in questions of where the self ends and computers commence.
