Abstract
The utilization of switching components including RF-switch Integrated Circuits (ICs) and PIN diodes in reconfigurable wearable textile antenna is presented in this paper. A simple reconfigurable wearable microstrip antenna is used as the test bed for these components. It is demonstrated that, the RF-switch IC provides better antenna performance than the PIN diode at the cost of more complicated design and manufacturing processes.
