Abstract

Background and Aim: Cirrhosis of the liver is a complex chronic disease that demands a thorough understanding by patients of its course and management. Well informed and actively participating patients are likely to have better health outcomes. In the absence of the availability of a validated questionnaire to assess health literacy in patients with cirrhosis, our aim was to develop and validate one for knowledge assessment in these patients.
