Watch your Step! Wrist-Worn Activity Monitors for Research

Research output: Contribution to conferencePosterpeer-review

Abstract

Wearables collect and aggregate movement and health information of significance to consumers and researchers alike. This review compares a selection of common activity monitors to assist in selecting the most appropriate device based on the task, objective, and research question. By 2025 it is projected that 70% of clinical trials will include wearables. Thus, clarity on the most appropriate device for a given research question is critical for successful data acquisition, results interpretation, and ethical expenditure of research funding.
