We’re all Greta now: The fallout of COP27

Abstract

I’m beginning to sound more and more like Greta Thunberg…

As our politicians sling mud onto each other’s sensible but expensive shoes from positions of social safety, the climate crisis worsens. That there are still decrepit windbags – Barnaby, I’m looking at you – debating whether this is going to happen is, frankly, not just an indictment on our political system but a tragic reflection of our collective education standards. The climate crisis is happening… Throughout November, Adelaide was snail-deep in wild storms.

Our continent is going to see longer dry spells, unseasonal wet spells, rising sea levels and cataclysmic bushfires… or, I should say, more cataclysmic bushfires. We’re also going to see more pointless debate unless we demand more from our leaders. And, yes Albo, I’m looking at you too.
