title = "{\textquoteleft}We{\textquoteright}re in it together{\textquoteright}: generating opportunities for leadership through co-produced research",
abstract = "This chapter explores leadership development in research from two diverse perspectives. We began working together as Community Researcher and project leader on a large, complex, and sensitive project about children and young people with disability and their experience of domestic and family violence. Jala's role grew in complexity and significance as the project progressed. Her involvement has been integral to improving the accessibility of our methods and outputs and also in shaping our research analysis and results. Over time, our relationship has also grown and changed. In this chapter, we reflect on what it takes for us to work together well and maintain mutual openness to doing our work in ways that create change. Drawing on a community development framework, we reflect on how generating leadership in co-production might require us to think in new ways about solidarity and agency to address the structural inequalities that constrain inclusive leadership development.",
