Abstract

What did we learn in the course of this book and what can we predict as some possible future developments?

In this chapter, we summarise the most salient points about language and its use, raised in each chapter. We highlight some areas of debate about how we understand language, and we look at possible avenues of research into aspects of language which are still not fully understood.
