Abstract

Flinders University’s Research and Employability Skills Training (REST) Program is a structured and embedded program for graduate research students. Through a reflective, competency-based approach, a doctoral graduate attributes framework and online candidature management system, it puts students in charge of their skills development – allowing students to assess their own skills, design their appropriate learning journey, and recognise, document, reflect on and demonstrate to employers the specific skills and attributes they have developed through the course of their study. This poster showcases the program and its structure, highlighting the elements required to make it possible.
