Abstract
This chapter presents findings from a collaborative creative writing-based inquiry exploring problems of injustice in neoliberal academia, especially injustices based on gender and intersecting axes of marginalisation/privilege. Responding to Harré et al.'s (Australian Universities Review, 59, 5-13, 2017) case for the "infinite game" as activism to resist and remake unliveable scenarios of the neoliberal academy, the chapter explains why collaborative writing-based research suits activism of this kind and then presents game-themed excerpts of creative writing by eight academics from differing backgrounds. Analysis of the writings enables identification of themes reflecting the un-liveability of conditions for academics marginalised by gender and/or intersecting factors. This leads to an assertion that change is both necessary and possible via the creation of spaces in which academics can connect, create, and imagine academia otherwise.
